Kriegar & Funck - Called Out In The Dark (Leo Pigot Remix)

Further showcasing his ability to effortlessly step between genres, Leo Pigot's newest tune comes in remix form. Taking advantage of the already dance influenced nature of "Called Out in the Dark", the French producer creates a mix that flows flawlessly. The synth chords perfectly compliment the soaring vocals, which make it a song that's hard for you not to fall in love with. This track really shows what Leo is capable of and is a prime example of why we always look forward to his releases. SYNTH Featured Artist: Leo Pigot

France has given us legendary game changing artists like Daft Punk and Justice, and current superstars such as Martin Solveig and David Guetta in the past two decades. So when someone with the extraordinary talent  that Leo Pigot has arises from somewhere with such an esteemed reputation already, the EDM world takes note. Not one to be shackled by one genre, Leo has had success in almost every genre in EDM. That is why we here at SYNTH sat down with the young DJ/Producer to find out more about who he is as an artist.

SYNTH: Hello Leo! First off can you give us a quick introduction to yourself? (Age, hometown, etc etc)

Leo Pigot: Hey man, here we go! I'm from the south of France, now 26 years old living in Saint Petersburg, Russia. I was mostly only DJ'ing in Paris until i started producing 4 years ago. Now i'm resident DJ to some Hypster parties in Russia and am going to be touring the US starting at WMC in Miami.

SYNTH: Sounds like you've certainly come a long way Leo! Who would you say your biggest musical influences are?

Leo Pigot: I guess it's a mix of everything. 10 years ago i was a huge techno lover (Ellen Alien, James Holden, Gui Boratto), then I started to love the basslines more and more. As a good patriot, I always loved Daft Punk. But my sound is closer to Mord Fustang according to many people, however I also try to have my own unique sound.

SYNTH: We can see the similarities with Mord Fustang, but you definitely have a very distinct sound of your own. Since you mentioned them, Daft Punk is one of our all time favorite artists here at SYNTH. Are you as excited for their new album due out this spring as we are?

Leo Pigot: Yeah they have been in the dark for too long and EDM music has changed, but I am sure they will come out with something fresh. Their sound doesn't need to follow the fashion, it is timeless!

SYNTH: We certainly agree! You mentioned you're going to be doing a US tour, have you performed in the US before or will this be a first?

Leo Pigot: Feeling like a virgin girl, my first time in the US ever!

SYNTH: Hahaha excellent Leo! What city are you most excited to perform in over here?

Leo Pigot: MIAMI of course man, but i'm also hitting Boston and I think it will be a good time!

SYNTH: You're definitely going to enjoy both cities! What artists (whether in dance music or another genre) would you love to collaborate with in the future?

Leo Pigot: I think it is a bit unreal right now haha, but knife party would be awesome.

SYNTH: Now that is something we would LOVE to hear! What can we expect from you in the near future production wise? (Any upcoming EPs singles or remixes)

Leo Pigot: I have my best releases coming this month: Monday March 18th with "Rockslaves" (Look at facebook.com/LeoPigotOfficial) on Bugeyed Records and on March 25th, "Electric Sun". Those tracks will show my new musical level and they are just crazy!

SYNTH: We anxiously look forward to those releases and will certainly be sharing them with our readers. You've also garnered praise and support from some pretty big names Leo, what's it like to have support from artists such as Tiesto and Lazy rich?

Leo Pigot: It is fabulous, and something you can't predict, just one day you see feedback from Tiesto saying "quite a good tune", and it makes not just your day but your entire week.

SYNTH: That sounds incredible Leo! Do you any closing comments or just something you want to tell our readers?

Leo Pigot: I want them to love my new EP coming in March and to check out my old tracks if they haven't heard them, like "Discophobia" or "Maria Antoinette." Because they are two tracks that even if I produced them and spent countless hours in studio listening to the same snares and bassline, I can still listen to them without wanting to kill myself :)

SYNTH: Well Leo, it has truly been a pleasure. Thank you so much for your time and you are as fun to talk to as your music is to listen to! We'll see you stateside friend!

Leo Pigot - Hyperion

Today we have the rising star Leo Pigot's "Hyperion." His fresh take on the now oversaturated electro house genre is as addicting as it is intuitive. "Hyperion" stands out with it's delightfully melodic chords and leads, which eventually give way to a gritty, greasy, dubstep-esque drop full of powerful wobbles and bleep-happy fills. The French asset shows he's not scared to bend and even blend genres, and does so with superior skill. The result is a tantalizing and catchy tune that is sure to make some waves. Already being supported by Tiesto and Lazy Rich, rest assured more excellent productions are to come from Leo.
